About Brian A. Yuen

Brian A. Yuen is a Vancouver lawyer with over 18 years of experience in litigation, immigration and refugee matters, wills and estates, and related appeals and judicial reviews. Called to the Bar of British Columbia in April 2008, he has built a broad advocacy practice grounded in careful preparation, practical strategy, and clear communication.
His primary focus is estate litigation, including wills variation claims, proving the validity of wills, executor disputes, estate administration issues, and other conflicts that can arise when families, estates, and legal obligations intersect. He also assists clients with immigration appeals before the Immigration Appeal Division, judicial reviews in the Federal Court of Canada, and a wide range of immigration and refugee matters.
Brian’s immigration work includes citizenship-related applications, spousal sponsorships, work and study pathways, refugee protection claims, and other routes to Canada. He is committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate legal services while protecting his clients’ rights and helping them navigate difficult legal problems with clarity and confidence.
Before founding Lotusland Law, Brian’s practice included civil litigation, personal injury, employment and human rights-related matters, and advocacy connected to administrative and regulatory processes. His background includes experience related to BC Supreme Court, Provincial Court, WorkSafeBC, and tribunal-based decision-making.
Brian is fluent in Cantonese and conversant in Mandarin, and has been active in the legal community through leadership and volunteer roles with the Canadian Bar Association, including the CBABC Immigration Section and SOGIC.
At Lotusland Law, Brian’s approach is thoughtful, practical, and client-focused. He works with individuals and families who need clear advice, strong advocacy, and a lawyer who understands that legal problems are often personal as well as complex.
